A lovely Friday Night

It had been a long week. Things were slow at work making things drag and any spare time I had last week was spent studying for the gre. I haven't taken a geometry course since I was 14 and so my skills are a little rusty. I allowed myself a light night out on Friday to recharge the brain and give it a rest. Albert was happy to accompany me. We started at Barcade like we always do. They had Stone Enjoy by 9-21-12 IPA on tap.

This beer only went to three states and was only available until 9-21-12 so of course we had to sample it. We both liked the hop profile. It wasn't too overpowering. We could still taste the hints of peach. It was a lovely summery IPA.

It was so nice out that I wanted to sit outside to enjoy my beers. So I convinced Albert to come into the city with me to try out Beer Authority. It is a new bar owned by the same people as Rattle n Hum where we have had many good nights. They have a nice roof deck, the unfortunate part is that the view is of Port Authority Bus Terminal which is not the most scenic. I didn't take a picture of the patio that night because I am a flake but it really does look just like this.

I realized I had no pictures on my way out so I made Albert take a picture of the signs up on the wall. The only negative was that you could not have real glass wear on the roof deck. You had to have plastic cups which is a major turn off for me. I had a Sierra Nevada Kellerweis and it was as always refreshing and delicious.

Next I talked Albert into walking a little more north and a little more west to go to the Pony Bar. I love the Pony Bar the only problem is it is no where near any train that I ever take.

They had their usually large delicious section. It was mobbed because it was a Friday night but we managed to snag a little table. Albert fell in love with Smuttynose Hommunculus a really nice tripel. We then headed home happy with a perfect light beer night in NYC. I then spent the next two days continuing my studying. I hate triangles.
